'Making it' in Western Europe: name, class, and dance with Lucie

UID: eaypi7zh637oarvbmpmkgxxdyek
Revision: vaypi7zh7prxqrevap663rldfvq

In the eighth - and last - episode of ‘Making it’ in Western Europe, we come full circle. Mirroring our first conversation in the series, Zsofi and I switch roles to discuss my (at points bumpy) journey from the Czech Republic to Brussels, with stopovers in Norway, Hungary, Italy and partly also the UK.

I open up about my background, difficulties with my name, the role that education played in my social mobility, and my never-ending love for dancing. I also speak about my experience of living with an international partner and how Brussels finally allowed me to combine all of my disparate identities and live experiences. There is still a way to go in my journey of belonging but at least for the time being, I feel that I am in the right place :)

Would you like to use this final chance to hang out with us and discuss the episode? Then join us for our upcoming 'Making it' Pod Talk! Our Pod Talks are open and intimate community reflections where we share our own experiences, ask questions and collectively reflect on what the themes of identity and belonging actually mean to us. We will be sharing the exact date soon, so make sure to follow us on socials not to miss the sign up link!
