In the fourth episode of ‘Making it’ in Western Europe, we were joined by Nino. Originally from Georgia, Nino has lived in multiple countries all over Europe and has recently moved back to her home country to settle down and start a family. In our conversation, we discussed what led to her decision to return, which countries felt the most welcoming, her affinity to Eastern Europe, the concept of the 'West,' and Georgia’s long path towards EU accession. Would you like to ask Nino about her experience and dive deeper into our reflections on identity and belonging? We will be discussing some of these questions and more during our fourth 'Making it' Pod Talk next week. Interested to join? In this bonus episode of ‘Making it’ in Western Europe, we are bringing you something special: an exclusive interview with Katalin Cseh, a Hungarian physician turned politician and currently a vice-chair of the Renew Europe Group in the European Parliament. Moderated by Selin, Katalin speaks about her passionate fight for gender equality, the current political climate in Hungary, what is the EP's position towards migration, whether the East-West divide still persists, and the age-old question that we keep returning to in our podcast: shall we stay or shall we go? This conversation concludes our mini series focusing on Hungary and the migration waves to and out of the country. We are really grateful that Katalin has made the time to talk to us. --- Special thanks to everyone behind the production. In the third episode of ‘Making it’ in Western Europe, we talk with Dinara, our Lazy Women social media manager. Dinara was born in Kazakhstan and moved to Budapest, Hungary, in 2018 to pursue an MA degree in Cultural Heritage. As Covid-19 coincided with her graduation, she decided to stay and build her new life in Europe. Witnessing tumultuous political environment and undergoing personal identity crisis, in this episode, Dinara ponders on the implications and choices of leaving /returning, on finding purpose in life and ways of giving back to the community and people who make us. Would you like to dive deeper? We will be discussing some of these questions and more in our upcoming 'Making it' Pod Talk on February 19th at 19.00 CET. Interested to join? What is the role of language while integrating in a new country? Is it possible to make local friends? And what makes one want to return back 'home'? Would you like to dive deeper? In this episode, Lazy Aizada and our community favourite online creator Alice Cappelle delve into Alice’s recently released debut book Collapse Feminism, while highlighting the need to make theories of gender and sexuality more accessible to the public. Alice talks neoliberal feminism, “natural” masculinity and divine femininity, as well as the effect of technology on our understanding of gender and relationships. Be it a last-minute Christmas present or a new year treat for yourself, this book and interview was the cherry on top of the first 12 months of The Lazy Women Podcast. Thank you so much for listening to us this year - big things are coming in 2024, so stay tuned! In this episode Lazy Selin is joined by Ayesha Amin, the founder of Baithak, a Pakistan-based organisation working to increase women’s access to sexual and reproductive health. Baithak seeks to challenge taboos and create safe spaces for women to discuss sexual and reproductive health, holding conversations on a variety of topics from menstruation to gender-based violence. Amin discusses what led her to setting up the organisation, the biggest challenges she has faced as a female-founder in a patriarchal society and why working with men is also important if we want to improve women’s access to information and healthcare. This month, we are bringing you something slightly different. A highly inspiring round-table discussion with the Lazy Women executive team (a.k.a. Zsofi, Dorina, and Lucie) and our community favourite feminist Youtuber Alice Capelle, moderated by our very own Selin. We spoke about what it means to be a feminist digital creator, how to deal with haters, and what tips we would give to other women thinking of joining the digital space. The roundtable was recorded at our fantastic crowdfunding launch Party in Paris and we are so happy that we can finally share it will all of you as well. Let us know what you think and happy listening! We only have 3 DAYS LEFT until the end of our crowdfunding campaign. 3 days left to make it all happen and reach our funding goal.
